2020 MLB World Series: Rays win Game 2 over the Dodgers behind Lowe’s 2 home runs

After the Dodgers won Game 1 of the World Series, Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts made the decision to start Tony Gonsolin as he only allows him go 1 1/3 innings in Game 2 of the World Series after only allowing one run then brings in

Brandon Lowe who is playing second base for the Rays hit a solo home run to give the Rays a 1-0 lead in Game 2 then right after they get some players on base and are able to capitalize on two more runs as the Rays take a 3-0 lead heading into the 4th inning.

After Game 1 the Dodgers felt like they had this series in the bag but not until the Rays pitchers had something say as they were keeping the Dodgers off the scoreboard. Rays starting pitcher Blake Snell who is a former CY Young Award winner is keeping the Dodgers on track and off balanced.

Brandon Lowe hits his second home run of the game in the top of the fifth with two outs as Dustin May gives up another home run in this game with the Rays leading 5-0. I knew that this bullpen game for the Dodgers was going to be tough but did not know that it would be this controlling by the Rays.

Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts always decides to pull the pitcher out of a game too early and there’s times when he takes them out to late. In this case, Roberts pulled Gonsolin too early as he could have continued pitching in this game.

Chris Taylor smacks a two run home run to right field as the Dodgers finally get on the board after a walk from Kike Hernandez. Mookie Betts walked right after as we are seeing Blake Snell begin to struggle on the mound for the first time of the night. Corey Seager came to bat and hit a long single to right field and the Rays are pulling Snell and are going to the bullpen for the first time in the game here in the fifth inning. The Rays have been doing a good job here so far by adding another run in the top of the sixth inning as they lead 6-2.

Dodgers catcher Will Smith adds a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth as he gets the Dodgers third hit in this Game. The Dodgers offense has not been the same in this game which is the reason why they are struggling tonight. The Rays have been putting the right guys in place to defeat the Dodgers which is not a very easy task. Blake Snell who started the game was great as he pitches in his first World Series Game.

The Rays seem to be cruising in this game until the bottom of the eight when Corey Seager hits a solo home run to cut the Rays lead 6-4 then followed by a double from Justin Turner. Dodgers left Turner on second to end the bottom of the eight as they strangled another runner late in the game.

The slow start by the Dodgers really ended up hurting them in this game as they came very close towards the end. Now that the Rays won Game 2 of the World Series, we now look forward to the pitching rotation on both teams come Friday night when Game 3 is scheduled to be played. Mookie Betts, Muncy and Bellinger go 0-9 with a strike out each combined in this game.

Dave Roberts needs to know how to be a little more patient on changing pitchers because every game he makes a lot of us scratch our heads with the questionable calls he makes. Give credit for the big at bats for Brandon Lowe with his two home runs in this game and a big pitching performance by Blake Snell which gave the Rays a 6-4 win here in Game 2 of the World Series.

Who will take the lead as the Dodgers and Rays are tied in the series with Game 3 of the World Series on
Friday night 8ET/5PT on FOX.
