2020 NBA Finals: Lakers handle the Heat in Game 1

September 30, 2020

By Fredo Cervantes

The Miami Heat face the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1 of the 2020 NBA Finals as LeBron James is currently playing in his 10th NBA Finals in his 17th year in the league.

As the first quarter is winding down here, the Lakers go on a 19-3 run after Lakers coach Frank Vogel calls a time out as he gets LeBron back in the game. When you have Anthony Davis and LeBron James on your team, that is a major disadvantage for the opponents as they are a different type of duo than Kobe and Shaq. People like to compare these two duos to each other but LeBron and Davis will win more championships than Kobe and Shaq.

Lakers just look like the much better team in the first half as they have taken control of this game thus far with Anthony Davis having 14 points and 11 threes as they take a 12 point lead and continue to play great basketball here in Game 1.

The Lakers go up by 17 points as Heat F Jimmy Butler goes down after he tweaks his ankle with 12 seconds left in the first half and gets right back up and finishes the game. LeBron is on his way to another triple double as he has 9 points 6 rebounds and 7 assists in the first half. Lakers Guards Rondo, Caruso, Green and KCP are a combined of 32 points.

The Miami Heat are way under sized to be able to challenge the Lakers here in the NBA Finals for the tittle. I predicted that the Lakers will sweep the Heat as they are just too young to compete with the Lakers. We are witnessing exactly that here through the first three quarters of Game 1 of the 2020 NBA Finals.

Some of the Heat players are getting banged up late in this game as Heat G Goran Dragic leaves the game in the 3rd quarter. The Heat were getting blown out already by 32 points as the Lakers were in the driver seat in this game before any injuries came by for the Heat. The only life that the Heat have had is Jimmy Butler with 21 points on 8-13 shooting from the field. The Lakers shut down the hype from the kid Tyler Herro 14 points during garbage time in the 4th on 6-18 shooting in 30 minutes.

Lakers duo dominated in this game as LeBron James has 25 points 13 rebounds and 9 assists, Anthony Davis adds 34 points 9 rebounds 5 assists and 3 blocks in Game 1 of the 2020 NBA Finals as the Lakers win 116-98 and take the series lead 1-0. Game 2 is set for Friday night 9ET/6PT on ABC.
