2020 NBA Finals: Lakers win 17th NBA Championship in Franchise history

October 11, 2020

LeBron James and the Lakers win the 2020 NBA Championship as LeBron officially becomes the Greatest Of All Time as he wins his 4th championship with 3 different coaches in his 10th NBA Finals appearance.

During the first quarter the Miami Heat are playing tough defense and moving the ball well to begin Game 6 as the Los Angeles Lakers face major pressure to win tonight and avoid a Game 7 on Tuesday night. Over the last few games the Lakers defense has not been the same as they continue to allow easy buckets and not rotate on shooters as they held the Heat to 20 points in the first quarter.

LeBron James is playing in his 260th career Playoff game as he now leads all players in NBA History and has the opportunity to win his 4th NBA Championship tonight with a victory over the Heat. James had 9 points 5 rebounds and 3 assists in the first. Anthony also racks up 8 points on 4-6 shooting from the field. Lakers G Rajon Rondo has been big in his first six minutes with 9 points and making his presence felt here in Game 6.

LeBron is leading the Lakers to a 12 point lead early in the 2nd quarter as it looks like he is going to shut the door on the Heat tonight. James is clearly the NBA Finals MVP of this series and it’s not even something to think about. Anthony Davis had a few games with inconsistent numbers and yes, he has been limping and dealing with pain from previous injuries but LeBron has been playing every game here in the NBA Finals up to his potential.

Miami has been sloppy in the first half as they have turned the ball over nine times and the Lakers have been capitalizing on the mistakes and take a 28 point lead late in the 2nd quarter of Game 6 of the NBA Finals. LeBron James has been great as he is on his way to another triple double and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has been shooting the light out with 15 points in the first half.

The Heat start the 3rd quarter down 28 points as they looked to stay alive here in the NBA Finals but it just seems like they have fully given up in this game as they continue to turn the ball over and Jimmy Butler being behind a few of those turnovers. Give some credit to Jimmy for the play he has had in the NBA Finals but when it mattered the most here in Game 6, he has not really shown up on both sides of the ball.

The Lakers have been stepping on the throat of the Miami Heat as they are not giving them any breathing roomin this game as the Lakers lead 82-48 late in the 3rd quarter. Rondo has been playing the best game of the playoffs here in Game 6 as he’s doing it on both ends of the ball. Heat’s Jimmy Butler has not been the Jimmy that has helped the Heat win in the past two games, as he only has 10 points after the 3rd quarter. Jimmy Butler is not a Top 10 player in this league. I might give him Top 15, but clearly not Top 10, so please don’t even make that a debate.

Miami overachieved this year and was not the clear favorite to even make it to the Eastern Conference Finals but give them lots of credit for the ride they have had in the 2020 NBA Playoffs with Jimmy Butler playing his first year in Miami after signing a max contract this past off-season.

LeBron James has gotten another triple double with 22 points 13 rebounds and 10 assists as has won his 4th NBA Championship in 10 NBA Finals appearances in 17 years. James has now won a championship with 3 different teams and none of those coaches in his three victories who had never been to the NBA Finals.

Anthony Davis is a now an NBA Champion in his 8th season in the NBA and will now enter free agency this off season and the question remains, will he resign with the Lakers? Who knows but we clearly know he’s worth every penny as he has proven it all year long for the Lakers.

The Lakers have now won the 17th championship in franchise history and are now tied with the Boston Celtics with 17 of all time. This was for Kobe Bryant as the team had one goal in mind all year long especially through the long tough run all teams had to go through to even makes this a possibility for the Los Angeles Lakers. Lots of the credit is deserving for the Lakers staff and front office.

Put some respect on LeBron James as that is exactly what he said in his Finals MVP Speech and having Anthony Davis screaming at him “You are the greatest of all time” as that is exactly what I been preaching for the last year.

The Los Angeles Lakers are now the 2020 NBA Champions and now everyone in the world can put some respect on the Lakers and especially LeBron James. You will be hearing a lot from me very soon.
