Agua Caliente Clippers Sweep The Series Against The OKC Blue

March 23, 2018

By Kevin Nahani

CJ Williams leads the Agua Caliente  Clippers to a victory over the OKC Blue!

The Clippers rallied their way through the second half coming back from a double-digit deficit. OKC had a strong first half, (62-53), but the Clippers made some adjustments in the second half. The Clippers had their fluidity with the ball (22 assists); making the extra pass and hitting key shots.

The game looks pretty tight on paper, but the 3 pt % was the difference maker tonight. Clippers shooting 33.3% (16 for 48),and the Blue shooting 23.9% (11 for 46). Both teams avg. are about the same, Clippers being 31% and Blue being 34%. The OKC Blue had the higher FG % 45.6-40.7, but the Clippers lived by the three with 16 three-pointers. 9 coming from Player of the Game: CJ Williams. CJ Williams was 3 for 9 in 3’s the first half. But the second half was a whole other story, CJ made an additional 6 3’s in the second half alone. Giving CJ Williams a total of 9 three-pointers. Unreal. Tim Quarterman was a hidden factor late in the game as he was the one to ice the game with his clutch AND-1 lay up. Tim Quarterman scored the second highest with 18 pts. Quarterman was the highest in assist with 11, giving him a double-double.

The whole Clippers squad was playing well together as everyone scored at least 4 points, but six Clippers got into double digits. It’s been a focus of team effort, distributing the ball and playing well together. The last game in Texas, they lost, however. All nine Clippers scored 6+ pts, and 5 Clippers scoring in the double digits. We should see the strong momentum of ball distribution more as we go into the last couple of games before the end of the season.

The Clippers swept the Blues in the series making it 3-0.

Make sure to grab a seat at the Citizens Bank Arena as the season is wrapping up! Their next game will be against Toronto at the Citizens Bank Arena @ 7 p.m. on Thursday. The last game of the season is this Saturday (3/24) against Iowa @ 7 p.m.

We want to give extended thanks to the Agua Caliente Clippers for being so awesome with us all season, nothing but open arms and good relationships with them. Thank you Clippers!
