The Lakers are coming off another win after defeating the Timberwolves last night in Los Angeles as they are playing on a back to back tonight as they host the Blazers. Four time NBA Champion LeBron James starts off with a hot hand going on a run of his own and watching moments like these, just crazy to believe that this is his 18th NBA Season.

Lakers F Anthony Davis sat out last nights game and is back in the line up tonight and had a slow start to the game as he only had two points on 1-4 from the field in the first half which looked like he was having a hard time finding his rhythm after sitting a game. Lakers F Kyle Kuzma had a hot start last night but I’ve always talked about his inconsistency throughout his career which is why he is not what people believe he is.
Another guy who has been consistent from the time he began playing big minutes has been Lakers G Talen Horton-Tucker with his great play on both sides of the ball which is another thing Kuzma can’t do.
Dennis Schroder has been great in the first few games but tonight he played the best game he has had with the Lakers. He is sensational on the court on all levels, let’s not forget he was the runner up for sixth man of the year last season with the Thunder. The Lakers have been in talks with Dennis on a contract extension as he is a free agent this off season coming up.
The Lakers have begun engaging with starting point guard Dennis Schroder in contract extension talks, and those discussions are expected to pick up again as soon as mid-February, sources tell ESPN. https://t.co/isRlfv5qCH

This game was actually a good test for the Lakers early in the season to measure them up to see what type of team they are now. It was a close battle throughout the game with LeBron James scoring 29 points 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Alex Caruso was not available tonight which was a major reason why the bench for the Lakers never got started offensively and weren’t able to take care of the ball as they turned the ball over 15 times in this game.
Give credit to Blazers G Damian Lillard for playing the way he usually does by putting up 31 points on 10-16 from the field and 5-10 from three which he was able to hit a few of those in the 4th quarter. Another Blazer who had it going tonight was Gary Trent Jr who had his own 28 points as he was 7-11 from three. The Lakers had a major problem guarding the three all night long.
The Blazers beat the Lakers 115-107 after Los Angeles entered the 4th quarter with an 85-84 lead.

Let’s not forget about the bad game that Anthony Davis had with only 13 points and 10 rebounds which if you look at it, decent stat line but not for Anthony’s standards. He did play 38 mins and was just not able to get it going all night long as he shot 6-14 from the field.
The Lakers now head to LAX to travel to San Antonio to face the Spurs on Wednesday night on LeBron’s 36th birthday which will be special to watch.
