Chargers QB Justin Herbert puts a stop to Derek Carr’s nonsense

October 4, 2021

There’s lightning in LA, so that means the Chargers have arrived at SoFi Stadium as there was a 35 min delay due electrical outage as we got ready for Monday Night Football.

The Raiders entered week 4 with a 3-0 record facing the 2-1 Chargers as they are coming off a huge win in Kansas City against Patrick Mahomes.

As the game kicked off with the delay game, both teams seemed to be eager to get on a roll to start off this game on Monday Night Football Live on ESPN. Chargers QB Justin Herbert was great last week in KC as he faced a tough Raiders team at home.

The Chargers opened up the first drive with a touchdown to TE Donald Parham Jr to take the lead 7-0. Raiders QB Derek Carr came in with a 3 and out to give the ball away to the Chargers.

There is lots of football excitement at SoFi Stadium as it seems to erupt for every team after a good play. Yes, there’s lots of Raiders fans but there’s also lots of Chargers fans as they took over the stadium for Monday Night Football.

Chargers Defensive player Joey Bosa made his presences be knows in the first quarter has he took down Raiders QB Derek Carr down multiple times. The Raiders were held scoreless in the first half.

During the second quarter, the Chargers put the Raiders in a difficult position to go for it on 4th down and failed which gave the Chargers good field position. What a bad call by Raiders Coach John Gruden as he seen Chargers Coach Brandon Staley go for it in the previous drive but failed with a fake punt attempt.

Late in the second quarter, the Chargers ran the ball down the field with multiple first downs as they scored their 3rd touchdown of the game as they led 21-0 heading into halftime. Big defensive stops by the Chargers which allowed them to play a magnificent first half.

The Chargers held the Raiders to zero points in the first half which was a big sign of how great the Chargers defense is. Joey Bosa made his presence be known as he took down on the Raiders offense line all game long.

Chargers head coach Brandon has been patient in this game with some play calling as he was up 21-0 in the middle of the third quarter.  Raiders QB Derek Carr throws his first touchdown of the game in the third quarter to TE Darren Waller to finally get on the board as the Chargers led 21-7 in the middle of the third quarter.

Late in the third quarter, Raiders QB Derek Carr completed his second touchdown of the game as the Chargers defense had no response to the Raiders offense coming out of halftime.

Justin Herbert had the ball in the beginning of the fourth quarter and failed to move the chains as the Raiders took the ball back with 11:45 remaining in the game. I’ve seen a lot of great football throughout the game but nothing as loud as it’s been in the second half. There’s lots of Raiders fans but there’s more Chargers at SoFi Stadium.

The Raiders missed a field goal attempt to potentially cut the lead 17-21 but failed.

Head coach Brandon Staley when for it on 4th down and completed the pass in the middle of the fourth quarter which was a big time decision for the bolts. Justin Herbert ended up taking this late drive for a scoring touchdown to take the lead 28-14 with 5:20 remaining in the 4th quarter.

What a big time play by the Chargers as they when for it on 4th down and made the right play at the right time late in the 4th quarter to win on Monday Night Football.

After the interception by the Chargers late in the 4th, allowed them to win the game with fashion. I witnessed a classic game by Justin Herbert against the Las Vegas Raiders as they pick up the victory 28-14 and are now 3-1.

The Chargers host Bake Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns on Sunday after Live at SoFi Stadium. What can we expect from the Chargers after this big win on Monday Night Football? A lot more wins.
