Superstar LeBron James unfortunately did leave the city of Cleveland once again, but college phenom Collin Sexton from Alabama might just be the second coming to Kyrie Irving for these now struggling Cleveland Cavaliers.
With the recent re-signing of forward Kevin Love, the Cavs might just be playoff worthy in the East once again if they can add another high-caliber piece to this now King James-less puzzle. The Alabama Crimson Tide mens basketball team sure doesn’t usually turn a ton of heads during the season, but when they had Sexton in the backcourt last year his scoring ability as a point guard was nothing short of phenomenal.
Spins. Euro’s. Feathery jump shots. Long distance bombs. Attacking the paint with force. The kid really had it all!
Sharpshooter Trae Young was the lone guard that got drafted ahead of him at #5 overall, but Sexton’s well-rounded game is indeed ahead of the quick-trigger man from Oklahoma. DeAndre Ayton and Marvin Bagley obviously went #1 and #2 respectively, but you might too if you had amazing talent and was from a school that everyone recognized like the University Of Arizona or Duke.
It is sad news that the Lebron James era in Cleveland is now officially now, but great things are already on the way for the loyal city of Cleveland. Never fear, Collin Sexton is here.
