New Orleans Pelicans Center DeMarcus Cousins goes off in Sacramento!

New Orleans Pelicans Center couldn’t have had a better homecoming in Sacramento. Cousins received a standing ovation, scored 41 points, grabbed 23 rebounds in route to a win for New Orleans.

Last season, Cousins was shockingly traded to the Pelicans for , , and a 2017 first-and-second-round pick. Apparently, Cousins was bad for the culture according to Kings’ front office; they had a new vision for the team that didn’t include the All-Star center.

Cousins can be a hand full at times but at the end of the day the Kings traded the most dominant center in basketball right now. On the bright side, however, they did land Kentucky point guard in the 2017 draft.

Fox is going to be a star in the NBA one day.

Three days before the Pelicans and Kings played, Cousins did an interview on Sports Center. In the interview Cousins opened up about his departure from Sacramento. He also said that this game wouldn’t be a revenge game, and that he’s past the trade and in a better place.

Well, last night looked to be the complete opposite of what Cousins said.

Cousins dominated the entire game from start to finish. He even had a highlight putback dunk. It’s funny because this was the first game in Cousins’ career where he scored 40+ points and grabbed 20+ rebounds. That’s a huge accomplishment for any player. It just so happens the last player to post such a stat line was Kings forward back in 2001.

It seems like Cousins may have had that game on his mind last night because he played out of this world.

But the most important thing is that the Pelicans got the win. Improving their record to 2-3. Now that is out, Cousins will be expected to carry the team.

Although the Pelicans have a losing record, they look better as a team this season. They’re constantly close in games and they don’t even have their entire roster. Once , Davis and return the Pelicans will be hard to beat.

Until then Cousins has to keep dominating. Last night was a reminder to the NBA that Cousins is still the most dominant big man in the league.
