As we tuned in to Giants @ Dodgers Sunday night on ESPN, we had the opportunity to watch the young 23 year old Mexican Phenom Pitcher for the Dodgers Julio Urias.
Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts continues to play with the line up card in the 4th game of the season. Mookie is batting lead off for the second time in 4 games. In baseball, it’s very important having a consistent batter at the lead off spot but seems like Dave knows what hes doing after getting eliminated 3 years straight in the playoffs and not because the other team was more talented, it’s because he got out managed by the opposing managers.
Dodgers coming around with the bats during the bottom of the 3rd inning with Mookie getting his 3rd hit of the season with a single and Cody Bellinger coming by with an RBI Single to tie up the game going into the 4th inning.
Julio Urias pitched through 5 Innings giving up 1 run and a couple of hits, looked impressive with the velocity and movement of his pitches. Even tho he allowed men on base but he kept them there. More moves by Dodgers Manager, led to a run for the Giants in the top of the 6th inning giving them the lead by making two pitching moves in the same inning. As we move to the top of the 7th inning with another pitching change by the Dodgers as they bring in Pedro Baez, who is now the 4th pitcher in 2 innings. Unnecessary moves by Dodgers Manager leading to all the runs given late in the game.
Seem like the Dodgers were coming alive in the 8th inning but reality hit them. Kike Hernandez grounded out with bases loaded to end the inning with the only major opportunity they’ve had to score. Kenley Jansen made his season debut as he entered in the 9th inning trailing by 2 runs. A.J Pollock lead off the bot of the 9th with a stand up double and catcher Will Smith followed with a pop up. Mookie Betts came up in the bot of the 9th with 1 runner on and 1 out and also popped up. Max Muncy struck out to end the ball game as the Dodgers fall to 2-2 for the season and now travel to Houston to face the Astros on Tuesday.
