Let me start by saying that the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are OVERRATED, Yes I said it! Too much talent in Orange County for this type of team to just be looking foolish out on the field. Certain people throughout that organization need to be held accountable for the production coming out of the Angels ball club. The latest signing by the team came a few months ago when they signed 2019 World Series MVP Anthony Rendon from the Washington Nationals and he is currently batting .200 this season which is one of the lowest in the league thus far. Mike Trout has been having his typical type season which for the last 7 years, only 1 time did he make it to the playoffs and got swept in 2014 by the Kansas City Royals. When we talk about great players, these players have a history of success in the playoffs but in this case, he doesn’t even have a playoff win. So let’s stop saying he’s the best in baseball cause the numbers clearly say you are wrong.
During Sunday’s game, the Dodgers continue hitting the ball hard like they have been for the past few games after sweeping the Angels over the weekend and giving the Angels they’re 6th loss in the last 8 games. Angels Star Mike Trout only had 2 hits over the Weekend on the Dodgers pitchers. The Dodgers Currently have the best ERA in baseball at 2.46. Another Angels Star that’s playing awful is Shohei Ohtani, currently one of the worst hitters in baseball only with 12 hits in 60 at bats. Like I said earlier, the Angels have too much talent to not be winning.
Welcome to 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐖, Keibert Ruiz!!
He's the 7th player in #Dodgers history to homer in his first at-bat. pic.twitter.com/LpKP9VQ3jZ— SportsNet LA (@SportsNetLA) August 16, 2020
The Dodgers bats were unleashed again hitting 4 home runs this afternoon and one of those came from Dodgers rookie catcher Keibert Ruiz who was making his Major League Debut from Venezuela and on his first career at bat he hit one to the right field bleachers. Ruiz has been the talk in the Dodgers organization as one of they’re upcoming young catchers they have and one unique skill he has is being a switch hitting catcher, there’s not that many that can do that. He wore #25 on his back today as he made his Major League Debut but there was another Hall of fame catcher who made his rookie debut with the same number and same team and he goes by the name of Mike Piazza.
Dodgers won they’re 16th game this season and are now the only team in the league who has not lost a series, which is very impressive to be the only team left standing. They are currently on a 5 game winning streak and a great start by Dodgers P Dustin May allowed them to complete the sweep and now are waiting for the Seattle Mariners to arrive in LA to continue the amazing baseball they have been playing as first pitch is scheduled for Monday night at 9:40ET/6:40PT Live from Dodger Stadium.
