Drew League All-Stars get revenge on Seattle Crawsover in rematch

August 3, 2017

The Drew League All-Stars hosted the Seattle Crawsover League in a rematch from last year and evened the series 1-1 in victory

and his Seattle Crawsover, traveled to Los Angeles to take on the All-Stars in a west coast Pro-Am battle. Last year the two teams went head-to-head in Seattle and the home team came out on top, and in this year’s battle at Los Angeles Southwest College the home team was victorious again.

The house was packed and the stars came out to watch the Drew League defeat Seattle Crawsover 101-94. Arizona commit Shareef O’Neal sat sideline as well as Dallas Maverick’s , and even the movie stars were out as Jamie Foxx also showed up courtside to take in the action.

The Drew got into trouble early with sloppy play and turnovers that led to easy baskets for the Crawsover. At the end of the first quarter Seattle was up by 11. In the second quarter, Drew’s All-Stars settled in and put a dent in the Crawsover’s lead. But it was multiple threes from Seattle, and the athleticism of , that kept the Crawsover out in front and helped extend their lead to 13 at halftime, their largest of the game.

By the second half it looked like Seattle was ready to run away with the game but, back-to-back Drew MVP,  had other plans. In the third quarter Nitty put the Drew on his back and took over. His refusal to go down without a fight helped him get hot from the three-point line and finish at the rim time and time again. Frank even stepped up his defense coming through with hustle plays and steals to put the Drew within 1 by the fourth quarter.

The money quarter is when all the Drew League All-Stars all stepped it up and wore out the Seattle Crawsover. By mid fourth the Drew separated themselves behind Nitty’s heroics, threes from Bobby Brown and post work from No. 1 high school recruit Marvin Bagley III. Baron Davis provided leadership on the court as the floor general, and Antonio Bigilo played some nasty defense at the end to keep The Drew in the game. Fan’s watching kept asking for more Baron Davis!

Nitty was the player of the game with 28 points off of the bench and four steals followed by Bagley III who dropped 18 and grabbed 20 boards then Brown who added 22 points in the Drew League’s win. As a team, the Drew shot 41.6 percent from the field including 35.5 percent from three.

Next up for the Drew League is playoffs at Los Angeles Southwest College where the All-Stars will return to their individual teams and play for the Drew League championship.
