LaMelo Ball and the Hornets are visiting the Lakers as they are coming off a loss to the Nuggets last night in Denver. This game has lots of eye balls watching and not just LaMelo’s play but for the comments he made earlier this week.

They asked him if he was looking forward in playing against LeBron James and his answer seemed to upset a few people, not sure why.

“I mean, nah. I grew up a little different. Not really on basketball like that. So, not really” Ball said when asked if he’s excited to face James for the first time. “It will still be cool … but I go to every game with the same approach, going in to try to get a win” said LaMelo Ball.

LeBron James seem to not be happy about the comments as he came out on fire in the first quarter with 15 points with two three pointers to get his shooting stroke going.

The Hornets opened up the 3rd quarter with a 19-4 run in the first 4:48 mins as LaMelo Ball put his foot on the pedal and the Lakers slowed down a bit coming off a good first half.

LaMelo came back in the game late in the third quarter and gave the Hornets a spark coming back into the game as they fought for an opportunity to win this game. He is just that great as he is facing the world champions as they continue to double team him on every possession, good game plan by Lakers Coach Frank Vogel.

He scored 20 points in the second half to help the Hornets get back in the game but the team was not able to hold on to their end.

LeBron is on it today with 37 points in the game as he had the Mamba Mentality coming into this game. The way the Lakers were playing tonight has been playoff like basketball and Lakers G Dennis Schroder has been putting up great game since coming back after taking a few games off due to Covid-19 protocol.

“It felt good,” LaMelo Ball said after his first game against LeBron James. “But not too good, because we didn’t get the win.”

“He’s damn good to be his age,” LeBron on LaMelo Ball after the game. “His speed, his quickness, his ability to make shots and baskets in the paint … and he’s going to only get better. Every game is a learning experience for him. He’s going to get better as the season goes on and his career goes on. Him and Zo are two very unique players in our league and they showcase that every night.” said LeBron.

After watching this game, I realized I was right this whole time. I knew watching LaMelo when he was 16 years old dominating the game, I knew he’ll be great but I didn’t know it’ll be this early as he played his 40 career NBA game and made his 20th consecutive start. The Lakers will be visiting LaMelo Ball and the Hornets in a few weeks in Charlotte.

Big night for the Staples Center on Saturday as they prepared to host two NBA games starting with the Hawks visiting the Lakers at noon then later on in the evening the Clippers will be hosting the Hornets.
