Clayton Kershaw flashes new and improved velocity and having great command on his pitches is something new now a days for Clayton. Had a good outing today in Arizona striking out 6 in 5 2/3 shutout innings in his season debut after missing his opening day start due to back problems that he’s been fighting through the last few years.
Dodgers P Clayton Kershaw was dominant using that slider which is exciting to know that Clayton has some of his old power back on the mound. A key point on Kershaw was the control he had with his pitches, giving up only three hits and zero walks on 81 pitches was impressive especially with the speed he had on his fastball reaching 94mph. Kershaw is a three time Cy Young award winner and NL MVP but is still missing that ring at age 32.
Hear from @ClaytonKersh22 following his impressive 2020 regular season #Dodgers debut (5.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 6 K, 0 BB). @alannarizzo pic.twitter.com/a26Skb7wQj

It was also a good day for the Dodgers offense with multiple home runs in the day including Mookie Betts and Cody Bellinger. Cody seems to be in some what of a slump and that’s the reason Dodgers manager Dave Roberts gave him a day off on Saturday. There was a scary moment late in the game with Dodgers star Mookie Betts getting hit on his finger. Reports came out after the game that he will be day to day, that’s a good sign.
Another good sign in the game was Dodgers P Kenley Jansen holding off the Dbacks scoreless to end the game and earned his second save of the season. The dodgers have now been through 10 games and winning 7 out them. They now fly to San Diego for another series starting tomorrow night at 6PT Live from Petco Park.
