LA Chargers beat themselves as the Cowboys win 20-17

America’s team visits SoFi Stadium as they take on the LA Chargers after loosing a big game in Tampa against the Tom Brady last week. Dak is looking to get back out there on the field and get his first win of the season.

The Chargers are coming off a big win in Washington last Sunday as Justin Herbert was magnificent on the road and he is trying to repeat what he did here today against the Cowboys.

Dallas scored first with a running touchdown to lead 7-0 then Herbert throws the first interception of the game then moments later the Chargers defense makes up for it as they intercept Dak Prescott early in his second drive of the game. This was a quick turnaround by both teams.

There’s been lots of penalty flags in the first half that has helped both teams but not as much as it did for the Cowboys. Herbert has a slow start in this game as he’s been dealing with a tough defensive line of the Cowboys.

This Dallas teams looks the same as they did last week when they played in Tampa. They’ve been able to control the game better than the Chargers but that only took place in the first half. Chargers QB Justin Herbert threw his first touchdown to Mike Williams as SoFi Erupted and the crowd when crazy.

They had a very good competitive first half with Dallas leading 14-11 going into the locker room.

Los Angeles received the ball in the second half and Justin didn’t want to give the ball back as he held this opening possession for more than 8 minutes and ended up with a great 42 yard pass to Keenan Allen and a game tying field goal in the middle of the third quarter.

Herbert got the ball back late in the third and continued moving the ball as he threw a bad throw that was intended for Keenan Allen and was intercepted at the goal line to end the third quarter. It’s been multiple times in this game that Herbert has thrown some bad balls but he has the mentality of making mistakes and moving on from them which a lot of players don’t have that mentality.

Cowboys scored a field goal early in the 4th quarter to take a 17-14 lead over the Chargers.

Justin Herbert and the Chargers came right back with a field goal of their own after more bad calls that stopped multiple touchdowns by the Chargers.

Dallas struggled more in the second half rather than the first but the refs had a lot to do with the Cowboys winning this game 20-17 with a late field goal as time expired. It felt like I was watching a flag football game because I kept seeing a flag on the floor every time the Chargers made a play. There was two touchdowns that got turned away because of a bad flag call. I saw Chargers fans be angry and upset with the bad calls as you could feel the frustration they held as they exited SoFi Stadium.

There’s really not much more to say about the game besides the officiating of this game and crazy to see that the Cowboys did not score a touchdown in the second half and still found a way out of Los Angeles with a win, oh I forgot, it’s America’s team we are talking about.

I got a chance to meet Chargers Hall of Fame RB LaDainian Tomlinson at SoFi Stadium. He’s very involved with the team this year as he was featured in the New behind the scenes Chargers all access show. He’s very excited to continue being around the team and continue to help some of the young guys get to the next level. What does he think about Herbert? He’s very good! I know Tomlinson is not happy with the way the game ended but sometimes you win some and sometimes you loose some but you live to fight again, which the Chargers are traveling to play the Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday.
