Lakers Media Day 2017 : A look inside

September 25, 2017

Lakers Media Day 2017. An inside look at your 2017 Los Angeles Lakers team under head coach Luke Walton.

The Los Angeles Lakers held their annual media day on September 25, 2017, at the UCLA Health Training Center in El Segundo, California.

A big question from media day is will the Los Angeles Lakers play Luol Deng. I believe he should get traded but we’ll see how the first day of Training Camp and scrimmage go.

When Lonzo Ball is off the court, Tyler Ennis will be the backup PG.

Head coach Luke Walton said the team culture is changing but it takes time.

The Lakers drafted Ball with the No. 2 pick and added veterans Brook Lopez from the Brooklyn Nets, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to aid in the development of the team. L.A. has a young talented core who are looking towards becoming playoff contenders. The Addition of Andrew Bogut will also play a huge role in the team’s development.

Ball movement is the key for the Lakers and everyone will get rewarded with Lonzo at PG. However, Walton says the emphasis for the team this year is defense and that he’ll use different lineups and rotations this year.

At media day the team showed excitement that the season is finally here.

Since May 15 guys have been coming into their new facility training and working out in the weight room–really bonding as a team. The team’s offseason commitment will help them as Walton is looking for effort and energy every game and every practice.

But Walton did say he may have to shut down the gym because players want to stay so late and get in that extra work and not have a rest day.
