What a surprise that we are watching the NBA Playoffs this weekend after NBA Players and other leagues around the country began boycotting by not playing due to the shooting that happened a few days ago with Jacob Blake in Wisconsin as they seek justice.

Blazers G Damian Lillard was on a flight home the other day after the leaving the NBA bubble since he arrived there early in July. Blazers noted that he may have a serious injury so he needs to fly back to Portland to meet team doctors. No Dame, no problem for CJ McCollum as he leads the blazers in the first quarter with 11 early points as he’s shooting perfect from the field 4-4.
Portland center Hassan Whiteside (left pinky finger dislocation) will return.

Lakers F Anthony Davis also added 10 points thus far in the first quarter while LeBron James gets 4 points with 2 assists. In the first quarter Hassan Whiteside injured his finger on his right hand as he was taken behind the locker room by team trainers as we believe this might be the end of his season. Lakers when on 13-0 run late in the first quarter as LeBron puts up a few buckets as he now has 12 points to end the first quarter as they lead 35-31.
Starting the 2nd quarter CJ McCollum was lighting it up as he now has 17 points with 9 mins remaining in the 2nd quarter. He’s not the only player who showed up for the Blazers, Carmelo Anthony also put his stamp on this game as he is also rolling hitting shots with 9 points and 5 rebounds. This game is a lot closer than I thought it would be with no Damian Lillard in this game, the Blazers were leading the Lakers 67-61 late in the 2nd quarter until LeBron James puts his foot on the gas pedal and puts up 24 points with 4 assists in 17 mins of play as he hits the 3 point shot to go to halftime tied at 68.

The Lakers have been playing great defense in the first 4 games of this series but for some reason they have lost they’re touch in this game. Good thing the offense showed up today because otherwise this game would have been over by now. Carmelo Anthony has been putting on great numbers with 23 points 6 rebounds on 8-12 shooting and 3-3 from three with 7:55 remaining in the 3rd quarter. The Lakers began shooting the three ball as they get they’re largest lead so far up by 11 as they have shot 10-25 (40%) from three.
The Blazers opened up the 4th quarter by going on a 8-0 run which led to a time out for the Lakers with 9:44 left in the game. First possession after the time out led to a corner step back three by LeBron James then another jumper by Kyle Kuzma that gave the Lakers a quick 5 point lead in the 4th. CJ McCollum has really stepped up in this game without his co star Damian Lillard with 36 points 6 rebounds and 5 assists with 7:33 still remaining in the 4th quarter. Both teams are trading buckets late in the game which is allowing the Blazers to fight for life in this game as they are in an elimination game.

Lakers largest lead of the game was 14 points then allowed the Blazers to get back in the game with the duo of Melo and CJ with a combined of 61 points so far with 5:10 remaining in the game. Looking at the other duo in LeBron James with 32 points and Anthony Davis with 34 points with 8 total three pointers made combined. As the game continued the Lakers began getting defensive stops when they needed and continued making they’re shots as they’ve made 14 three pointers in this game. After Alex Caruso got a steal that led to a slam by Anthony Davis on the other end to give the Lakers a 9 point lead with 3:56 remaining in the Blazers long season.
There’s the 25th career playoff triple-double for @KingJames, trailing only @MagicJohnson and his 30.

Anthony Davis took over Late in the 4th quarter by scoring a quick 8 points to add up to his 43 total points to give the Lakers a 13 point lead with 2 mins remaining. LeBron James gets another triple double with 36 points 10 rebounds and 10 assists in 34 minutes of play which is very impressive at the age of 35. As the Lakers now look forward for they’re next opponent in the Rockets or the Thunder as the Rockets lead the series 3-2.
