The Charlotte Hornets host the Oklahoma City Thunder for the first home game of the season as LaMelo Ball starts this game on fire with a quick 9 points in his first five minutes in the first quarter. The Hornets came out with poise in the first quarter with Devonte’ Graham being the scorer he is.
In the second quarter LaMelo Ball checked back into the game and put a quick four points in four minutes for the young 19 year old. Ball finished with 13 points off the bench in the first half. Hornets G Terry Rozier had 12 points and Graham with 11 points in the first half making it a very good half for Charlotte.
After Wednesday’s game in Cleveland, The Hornets felt like they let the game get away with some bad possessions and missed easy opportunities where they were able to take advantage of. Even though LaMelo whent scoreless in the his first career game, he learned through the short off-season he had which was only 2 weeks from the moment he got drafted, to the moment he began training camp. This rookie class is having it harder than any other class ever in NBA history.

In the Second half the Hornets kept battling against the Thunder who are a very young team as well, Gordon Hayward is the only veteran on the team with all the other young guys. The Thunder kept stepping on the gas pedal as they kept rolling through the second half.
LaMelo Ball only took four attempts in the second half but was still able to get his team involved, which is his specialty as a basketball player. The Thunder took over the game late after George Hill hitting a three and Alexander going off for a few points. Late in the game, the Hornets made it interesting by tying up the game with a few seconds to go with a game tying three pointer by Hornets F Miles Bridges.
Overall the Hornets looked good in the second game of the season as they will be facing the toughest match up of the year with the Brooklyn Nets visiting on Sunday night for the third game of the year for the Hornets.
