On Friday night in New Orleans, Lonzo Ball and the Pelicans hosted LaMelo Ball, third overall pick in this years draft and younger brother of Lonzo Ball. This is the first time they play against each other in the NBA and it won’t be the last as both kids from Chino Hills, CA are now in the NBA.

During the first half of the game the Pelicans seemed to be in control in the game as they when up by as much as eight points in the second quarter. Pelicans F Brandon Ingram was doing what he normally does on the court and Zion Williamson playing like the star he is. The match up everyone one was looking for was exciting to witness as Lonzo Ball put up 5 points 2 assists and no rebounds but in the other hand, LaMelo Ball had 7 points 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the first half. We saw lots of flashes from both Ball brothers during the first few minutes that they were on the court.

When we see the type of player LaMelo Ball has become now that he is in the NBA, his ability to make others better and that’s a major plus because lots of players can’t do that, which is a trait that runs in the Ball family. He can create multiple ways on the court to impact the game and not by scoring or passing but by doing the other little things that other players don’t do like chasing a loose ball, attacking the boards, keeping your hands active through the passing lanes. As he is coming off the bench and only playing limited minutes, LaMelo Ball is taking advantage of every minute possible.

During the second half of this game, the hornets seem to find a way back in the game as they are playing a lot more aggressive and moving the ball well. The Pelicans have been turning the ball over a lot which is the reason the Hornets have kept them selves in the game. LaMelo Ball is another story, he’s been playing magnificent in this game as he had 12 points 10 rebounds and 9assists in the game. ESPN commentator and former NBA head coach is in love with LaMelo ball’s game with the high praise he’s giving LaMelo on National TV.

LaMelo was 1 assist shy of becoming the youngest NBA player in history to get a triple double at the age of 19. It was a great game overall of LaMelo Ball as the Hornets got the win 118-110 as they are now 4-5 this season and are facing the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night 7ET/4PT.
