This past Saturday we witness history in the making as LaMelo Ball recorded the youngest triple double in NBA History at 19 years old and 140 days. This record was previously broken by his older brother Lonzo Ball when he was a member for the Los Angeles Lakers.

After Friday nights game against Lonzo and the Pelicans, LaMelo was one assist shy of his first career triple double but LaMelo was not worried about getting the record on Friday because he knew that within 24 hours he would not come up short as they hosted the Hawks on Saturday night, Jermaine Jackson, LaMelo Ball’s manager told me after the game against the Hawks. Ball told Jackson after Fridays game “Don’t worry fam, I got it tomorrow” and he goes on as planned and becomes the youngest NBA player in history to get a triple double.

In his first 11 games of his young NBA career, he’s been providing a major spark to a very young team in the Hornets as he was drafted third overall in the 2020 NBA Draft.  Ball’s manager told me that he is from out of space, like literally from out of space with the type of talent he has, it’s rare for someone on planet earth to be that good at age 19.

I asked if LaMelo should be in the starting line up and Jackson said he is not worried about being a starter or coming off the bench, that’s not what is on his mind. There is one main goal he does have on his mind and is not being rookie of the year, he would like to make the playoffs and get a chance to win and bring a championship to Charlotte but he wants to be part of Team USA this upcoming summer when they go for the Olympics in Tokyo.

LaMelo Ball’s focused this season is doing everything possible with his game doing the talking to make Team USA and help bring a gold medal to Chino Hills, CA. LaMelo has plenty of experience playing with overseas competition as he did play multiple times including playing in Lithuania for a season, played for the JBA USA travel team and played last year in Australia for the Illawarra Hawks. So he has the experience in the world to qualify and compete for a spot in Team USA this upcoming summer.

Another thing on his mind, which is a long term goal is becoming a hall of famer when he retires from the NBA. Just stop and think for a second. This is coming from a 19 year old kid, named me another rookie in the league or any other rookie who came into the league with that type of mindset? I’ll wait……

LaMelo is different, he’s not from planet earth, he’s from out this world, he’s not the typical 19 year old kid that comes into the league. You are not hearing anything about Anthony Edwards, some of you guys might say “Who is Anthony Edwards?” Thanks you, you proved my point.

Stay tuned and follow LaMelo and the Hornets as they are on a hot streak right now winning four games in a row and ball having 10+ rebounds in his last 3 games coming off the bench. He is must watch tv for all basketball fans.
