Why Mayweather vs. McGregor won’t live up to Canelo vs. GGG

While most will waste time and money on an overhyped Mayweather vs. McGregor farce, true boxing will be exemplified by Canelo vs. GGG.

Without a doubt, the most over hyped fight in the history of boxing is almost here. A bout between one of the greatest boxers ever goes up against an MMA star.  vs. is as lopsided as it gets. This will be a one sided affair, as well as, a complete circus. Probably the most boggling part about it is that people have been informed of the disparity between the two fighters and still think Conor has a chance. All advantages go to Floyd in every conceivable away. No, do not buy into Conor’s mouth. I know what you’re thinking,

“If Conor hits Floyd with that famous left of his, then it’s over!”

Right? Wrong! Floyd has been hit before and hit hard; he’s never been dropped.

Now because Floyd is human, Conor will have a 1% chance at winning this fight. In no way am I saying that Conor is not a good athlete or not a good fighter, because clearly in the sport of MMA he’s dominant, but this is boxing. This is a different world. Do not mistake the punches being thrown in MMA to be anything like boxing. And while MMA fighters do use aspects of boxing in their training to help throw calculated and accurate punches, by no means do they move, punch, roll and counter like boxers. They don’t even throw combos like a boxer nor set traps like boxers.

If you’re looking for an upset don’t count on it. This has been one big spectacle of sensationalism and, frankly, people love that. In the boxing world, we refer to it as “the circus” because that’s all this fight has been up to this point.

The exciting part is happening right now. All the trash talk, media coverage and the angle of MMA vs. boxing. That’s where the excitement will end because when that bell rings, you’ll feel robbed of $100.00.

There is one fight, in particular, that’s coming up a few weeks after this one that will be worth your time. It’s said by many boxing aficionados that this could be one of the best fights in the history of the sport–vs.. Canelo(49-1) is extremely talented, powerful, in his prime and the face of boxing. Since his 1st and only loss to Mayweather 5 years ago, he has been nothing short of spectacular. Fighting GGG will be the biggest test of his career. When it comes to GGG, we are talking about a whole different type of animal. This man is on another level when you speak of dominance and discipline. GGG is 37-0 with 33 knockouts and has the highest knockout percentage in middleweight history. Since his first fight on American TV just 5 short years ago, he has taken over the boxing world with 23 consecutive knock outs and even though his KO streak ended in his last fight, his win came in a dominating unanimous fashion.

Canelo vs. GGG is the most bang for your buck that you’ll get for quite some time. This is a true boxing match that brings fireworks, power, courage and blood. This will be a legacy fight for both fighters which is why it promises the best action possible, and also because they’re two of the best fighters in the world right now.
