Los Angeles Lakers great Metta World Peace joins the organization once again–this time as an assistant coach for their G League team.
The South Bay Lakers announced that the former Lakers forward will join their staff as an assistant coach.
It was announced Monday that The NBA veteran will work with South Bays Head Coach and his staff as a player development coach.
World Peace played six seasons with the Lakers from 2009-2013 then again from 2015-2017. He won two championships in L.A. alongside in 2009 and 2010 and later embraced a mentorship role in his last two seasons with the team.
Although World Peace hasnt formally retired, his participation with the South Bay Lakers this season suggests hes transitioning to a coaching career where he can continue to use his experience to help young players.
