Happy Mother’s Day on this beautiful Sunday to all the mother’s in the world. One mother who had a great time watching both of her sons playing against each other tonight, Tina Ball, mother of Lonzo and LaMelo Ball.
This is the second match up this season after LaMelo and the Hornets visited New Orleans on January 8th and defeated the Pelicans. Four months later they meet again with only a few game remaining in the season and it looks like the Hornets are going to make it to the playoffs and the Pelicans might be heading home early.

In the first half of the game we saw both teams really come out with some excitement and energy to play and was very competitive. The starting backcourt for the Hornets has been aggressive with LaMelo and Rozier having a scoring clinic as well as Hornets C Cody Zeller who is in double digits scoring in the first half.
Terry Rozier had his best half this season as he was unstoppable by the Pelicans as he was making it raining throughout the court and had 24 points and 18 of those have come in the second quarter as he shot 9-14 from the field in the first half.
In the second half of this game Rozier continued playing great on both sides of the ball as well as LaMelo, both taking on the Pelicans defense which is not at its best with no Zion and Ingram in the game as they are both sidelined due to injury.
The Hornets only made one field goal in the first seven minutes of the fourth quarter which was a big reason the Pelicans climbed back into this game. LaMelo came back into the game with five minutes remaining in the game.
Lonzo had a pretty calm night here with 12 points in the game and 6 assists and Pelicans G Eric Bledsoe has been carrying the scoring load for the Pelicans as he finished the night with 24 points and 11 assists.
Both teams battled through the last minute of the game with the Hornets down 109-107 with 45 sec to go and the Hornets through it away and allowed the Pelicans to steal this important game from them.
LaMelo finished with 22 points 5 assists and 4 rebounds in the loss to the Pelicans 112-110 on Sunday evening. Hornets next opponent is the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night in Charlotte.
