The Fredo Report

Playoff LeBron leads Lakers to a 3-1 series lead

August 24, 2020

The Lakers start Game 4 with a 15-0 run as they come out with that Mamba Mentality from the very beginning of the game. LeBron continues his dominance performance from Game 3 and Anthony Davis following his foot steps with 10 points and 3 rebounds in the first 8 mins of the game as the Lakers call a time out with 3:51 remaining in the first quarter.

Blazers come out cold in the first quarter as Carmelo Anthony shoots 0-4 from the field in 8 mins and Damian Lillard 0 points in 9 mins thus far as they continue to struggle in the last few games. Blazers C Jusuf Nurkic is only player putting the ball in the basket as he shoots 5-6 with 10 points. Lakers F Anthony Davis goes to the bench after picking up his 2nd foul in the first quarter after putting up 16 points on 4-5 from the field. As the first quarter ends 43-25, Lakers continue to play tremendous defense and you have to give a lot of credit to Lakers Coach Frank Vogel.

During the 2nd quarter the Lakers continue having they’re foot on the pedal as they run by the blazers scoring 60 points with 5:42 still remaining in the half. This Lakers team is the same one we saw before the Corona Virus took over the world. I noticed during Game 3 that the Blazers have ran out of gas while they played every game like a Game 7  since they arrived in the bubble has really beat them up mentally and physically. While being down 20 late in the first half for the Blazers, they have not been able to keep a hand up on the Lakers as they make 11 three pointers in the first half which has given the Lakers a 29 point lead as they head into the 3rd quarter.

I’m not sure what else to say to you guys but the Lakers are rolllliiinnnngggg!

LeBron James is shooting 10-11 from the field and 4-5 from three while adding up 27 points 7 assists and 5 rebounds with 9:13 remaining in the 3rd quarter. The Blazers have no answer for the Lakers offense while allowing 22 fast break points compared to they’re 6 fast break points early in the 3rd quarter while getting they’re largest lead of the game by 38 points.

The Blazers back court duo in Lillard and McCollum are combined for 24 points through the middle of the 3rd quarter as they shoot for a combined of 7-16 from the field. Damian Lillard has also exited the game with a right knee injury early in the 3rd quarter while already being down 30 points.

Lakers F Anthony Davis has left to the locker room early in the 3rd quarter and will not return to the game as Lakers training staff said is due to back spasms which is smart to take him out as the Lakers have a 30 point lead.

As the Lakers look in closing out Game 4 to take a 3-1 series lead heading into the 4th quarter with a 25 point lead, Lakers decide to sit LeBron for the entire of the 4th quarter which Kyle Kuzma had no problem in caring the team during the 4th scoring the ball and making the right plays on the court while adding 18 points. Lakers guards Quinn Cook, Dion Waiters and JR Smith come into the game playing well together during the 4th quarter as they lead by 29 points with 7:33 remaining in the game.

While the game was winding down in the 4th quarter, the Lakers continued to keep they’re foot on the pedal and maintain a comfortable lead to take a 3-1 series lead in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. As they look forward to closing the series on Wednesday night at 9ET/6PT on TNT, the questions that everyone will be asking is whether Damian Lillard will return to the line up after his right knee injury and Will Anthony Davis return as he left in Game 3 with back spasms. We will find out right before Wednesday’s tip off but one thing we do know is LeBron James will be playing and looking forward to advancing to the Western Conference Semi Finals.
