Skyler’s The Limit: Week 1 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em

September 7, 2017

RBs to start Week 1:

(vs. Jets): LeSean McCoy has quietly been one of the best RBs in the NFL the past four to five years. McCoy was the 4th best RB in Fantasy last year and will likely have an even bigger role since the Bills decided they didn’t need any WR weapons to win games (hence why they’ll lose a lot of games). It also helps McCoy that the Bills face a Jets team that might have lost more guys defensively than the Bills did offensively. I love McCoy in Week 1.

(vs. Bears): Devonta Freeman finished as the 6th best Fantasy back last season. The most impressive part of it is that took a bunch of touches away from Freeman so who knows where he would’ve finished had Coleman not been a factor. You want to know how you blow off steam after a heart wrenching loss in the Super Bowl–you play the Bears Week 1. I love all the Falcons main starters in Week 1.

Under the Radar RBs:

(vs. Bills): Bilal Powell emerged as the Jets most versatile RB last season and will see lots of touches this year especially after the Jets lost,  and to free agency, and   to injured reserve. Powell faces a weak Bills defense so he’s a nice sneaky start as possibly a flex option.

(vs. 49ers): McCaffrey is my pick to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. McCaffrey brings a lot of versatility to a Panthers offense that’s been looking for weapons to help Cam. You add all that with the fact he faces the 49ers he is a nice RB2 or flex option.

RBs to sit in Week 1:

(vs. Jaguars): Now I’m not saying sitting Lamar Miller is a must, as he could be your best RB or 2nd option, but I’d definitely look for better options first. Miller is a very talented back but couldn’t stay healthy as the workhorse back last year. The Texans also have a shaky situation at QB and he faces a good Jaguars defense that keeps getting better.

/ (vs. Vikings): Until we see how the Saints backfield unfolds I want no parts of it. Mark Ingram and Adrian Peterson are both talented backs but don’t know how they’ll be used this season. I understand the whole revenge factor concerning Peterson against his former team but I’m not looking too much into that. Plus, the Vikings defense is arguably the best in football.
