Skyler’s the Limit: Week 5 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em

October 5, 2017

RBs to start in Week 5:

Duke Johnson Jr. (vs. Jets): Duke Johnson is an underrated PPR RB to me. Johnson has increased his receptions in every week this season and has finished with 43.4 fantasy points the last two weeks. Johnson is a main part of the Browns and will likely continue to be used at a high capacity. This week he has a favorable matchup against the Jets who allow the 3rd most points to RBs.

Carlos Hyde (vs. Colts): I’m glad Carlos Hyde is staying healthy for the most part to begin this season. Hyde has become a nice PPR option as he has become more involved in the passing game. Hyde has had three or more receptions in every game this season so that is an extra three points alone (unless you do half point per reception). Hyde faces a weak Colts defense that allows the 11th most points to opposing RBs which is surprising just cause I thought they’d be worse.

Under the Radar RBs:

Doug Martin (vs. Patriots): Doug Martin could be a huge risk play this week as he returns from suspension. No one really knows how the Buccaneers plan to use him in his first week back especially with Jacquizz Rodgers filling in nicely in his absence. Martin could be due for a touchdown though against a Patriots defense that allows the 2nd most points to RBs.

Wayne Gallman (vs. Chargers): Wayne Gallman could be the answer at RB that the Giants have needed. Gallman led all Giants RBs with 13 touches last week and he scored a touchdown so wouldn’t be surprised if we see a little more of him this week against a Chargers defense that allows the 14th most points to RBs.

RBs to sit in Week 5:

Tarik Cohen (vs. Vikings): I know Tarik Cohen has been a pleasant surprise for Fantasy owners but I don’t like him this week. First off although he’s mainly used for just receiving purposes he’s still getting touches taken away by Jordan Howard. Cohen also faces a gritty Vikings defense that allows the 2nd least amount of points to RBs.

Any Seahawks RB (vs. Rams): Although they face the Rams who give up the most points to RBs this week, I’m avoiding all of their RBs. There is no indication on who will get the most touches between Eddie Lacy, Thomas Rawls, C.J Prosise, or J.D McKissic. Good luck guessing who does if you decide to play any of them.
