Skyler’s the Limit: Week 9 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em

November 1, 2017

By Skyler Carlin

We are officially on the second half of the NFL regular season and it’s an important time in fantasy football to lock in some W’s to make playoffs.

The NFL trade deadline has just come and gone. There were a couple moves made that affects Fantasy players around the world. heading to the Philadelphia Eagles could have huge Fantasy implications. Ajayi has yet to score a touchdown this season but you have to think changes while he’s in an Eagles uniform. He may have to split some goal line touches with  but Ajayi’s stock for the rest of the season definitely went up.

Another move that can potentially shake things up is being acquired by the Buffalo Bills. I’m not a huge fan of Benjamin but it’s hard to believe he doesn’t get a high volume of targets in an offense lacking weapons.

Now let’s get into who to start this week. It’s easy to just say start your studs so I look at guys who aren’t always your typical starters. My decisions are based on PPR (points per reception) scoring so don’t @ me.

QBs to start in Week 9:

Tyrod Taylor (vs. Jets): should be a solid option at QB this week. Taylor has run the ball 6+ times in all but one game so far this season, and he scored a rushing touchdown just last week. Taylor has already faced this New York Jets team in Week 1 and totaled 18.8 points. I expect a repeat performance or even better this week against division foes who allow the 11th most points to QBs this season.

Jared Goff (vs. Giants): I don’t think can be put in the under the radar QBs anymore. Goff has had inconsistent weeks as expected but has shown he’s a different QB than last year. It’s crazy what you can do when you’re not being coached by an inept HC like Jeff Fisher. Goff is coming off a 18.7 point week against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7, and Week 9 he’s fresh coming off a bye. Goff faces a New York Giants defense without  that’s already allowing the 6th most points to QBs.

Under the Radar QBs:

Joe Flacco (vs. Titans): I know it’s hard to trust but he could have a nice go Week 9. Flacco is questionable this week after being put in the concussion protocol in response to a huge hit against the Miami Dolphins last week. Flacco is expected to play and if he does he faces a Tennessee Titans defense that allows the 13th most points to QBs.

QBs to sit in Week 9:

Andy Dalton (vs. Jaguars): is coming off his second-best Fantasy week last week. Dalton scored 18.7 points against the Indianapolis Colts. Dalton is really hard to trust this season and I believe he’ll struggle severely this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars’ vaunted defense that allows the least amount of points to QBs.

Josh McCown (vs. Bills): is surprisingly a top 10 Fantasy QB this season. No one was expecting him to be a top-10 guy, and I don’t think he finishes there, but it’s impressive. McCown could see one of his worst weeks against a Bills defense allowing the 4th least amount of points to QBs.
