With the Bill Belichick and Tom Brady era slowly coming to a close, look for new teams to lead the charge in this new faster-pace NFL. No longer is Brady and company the deadliest offense with elite quarterback play and a short-pass scheme, as the entire league has quickly shifted to far more balanced and explosive attack.
The talent pool of players these days are far greater then they were just five years ago, and head coaches and assistants are that much more educated in the X’s and O’s. As the New England Patriots have had a major stronghold on this league this past decade of football, no longer is Brady the most talented quarterback and Belichick the best head coach.
Granted, I do totally understand the Patriots won Super Bowl LII last year. No denying that. Kudos to them once more. But, with their intense mixture of old age, locker room issues coming to surface, players being lost, and coaches finding new jobs, these once dominate Patriots might be very quickly going back to the drawing board.
Lucky for them New England is still by far in the weakest division in football, but once the season concludes that won’t matter as much.
With perennial power-houses like the Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints, Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Falcons, Pittsburg Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns (that’s right, I mentioned the lowly and unlucky Browns in this category), the Patriots have literally a zero-to-no chance to even appear in the Division Championship game these next five or more years.
