Winners and losers from NFL Week 5

October 10, 2017

Philadelphia Eagles

Week 5 the Eagles won big blowing out the Arizona Cardinals (34-7) who look like a shell of themselves this season.

Second-year QB Carson Wentz threw for 304 yards and 4 TDs to go with 1 INT, and ended the game with 35 Fantasy points.

The Eagles are having a quietly good season so far and should be recognized for it. Wentz has led Philadelphia to a 4-1 start and now they find themselves comfortably at the top of the NFC East.

Los Angeles Chargers

Week 5 the Chargers finally got one in the W column. They beat the dumpster fire Giants 27-22 and are now 1-4.

Philip Rivers threw for 258 yards and 3 TDs in the victory including the go-ahead touchdown to Melvin Gordon with 2:58 left to play.

The Chargers still have a long way to go to try and win over a city that barely supports the better NFL team in town, but a win is a good place to start.

Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers is going to Aaron Rodgers. He’s a baaad man. Rodgers does it again.

However you put it, it all sums up to the same thing. Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks to play the game. Just in case anyone forgot, he orchestrated yet another game-winning drive that exemplifies his greatness.

Rodgers led the Green Bay Packers on a late-fourth-quarter drive to beat the Dallas Cowboys–again–35-31 with only 1:13 left on the clock.

He did it with his arm and with his legs. With the clock ticking away Rodgers scrambled for 18 yards on a broken play that set up his 12-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams with just 11 seconds remaining in the game.

Rodgers ended the night with 221 yards, 3TDs and 0 INTS. Have yourself a day, sir.
