Winners and Losers from Week 14 of the NFL

December 13, 2017

LOSERS

Philadelphia Eagles

It’s not often a winner from a week is also a loser but such is the case for Philly. In Week 14 they experienced the high of being named the kings of the NFC East yet also lost their MVP-candidate QB to a torn ACL.

Now a playoff favorite has serious concerns heading into the postseason.

Eli Manning

In his return to the starting position for the New York Giants, played like a guy who deserved to be benched. Fan of his or not, the truth is Manning has lost a step.

In his Week 14 performance, he threw two interceptions and just one touchdown as New York was pummeled 30-10 by the Dallas Cowboys.

Cleveland Browns

The Browns were the Browns yet again and moved on to go 0-13 on the season. It’s not such a big deal that they lost being that they’re the Browns, but they were actually in a position to win.

Cleveland held a two-touchdown lead over the Packers late in the game but couldn’t hold on to get their first victory of the season as they allowed Brett Hundley to complete a game-winning TD pass in OT to steal the win.

New Orleans Saints

The Saints were in position to beat the Atlanta Falcons Thursday night, literally at the goal line, but failed to do so.

Instead threw a goal-line interception with less than two minutes in regulation which sealed the deal for the Falcons to win.

The TNF loss was a missed opportunity for New Orleans to create some separation from the Carolina Panthers. Luckily for the Saints, they still are first in the NFC South despite having an identical record to the Panthers because they have a better divisional record overall.

However, with New Orleans has to keep winning to keep Carolina from taking over the top spot.
