Winners and losers from Week 6 of the NFL

October 17, 2017

WINNERS

Mitch Trubisky

In the first start of his NFL career, got a win. He did it against Super-Bowl winning quarterback and the Baltimore Ravens. He completed 8 of 16 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions.

Not bad for a rook (unless you’re ).

Trubisky helped put Chicago ahead of the Ravens 17-3 in the third quarter thanks to a 27-yard TD throw that he made on the run.

Welcome to the league young man.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers dethroned the champs! Well, not exactly, they did defeat the only unbeaten team in the league, however, in the Chiefs.

and his team bounced back from a horrendous performance Week 5, which saw Big Ben throw five interceptions, to beat Kansas City 19-13.

Roethlisberger threw for 252 yards, a touchdown and an INT but it was running back who had the performance of the game. Bell ran for a whopping 179 yards and had one TD on the night.

Deshaun Watson

There’s no surprise here but is a baller. He’s so good so soon that he’s filling every team that passed on him with regret.

The rookie QB had another tremendous performance Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns in which he threw for 225 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT.

He also added 23 yards on the ground on six carries to help the Houston Texans improve to 3-3.

It’s still early but Watson is turning out to be every bit as good as Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said he’d be.

There are 11 NFL teams kicking themselves for not drafting him.

Adrian Peterson

has had a rough go to start the season. He signed with the New Orleans Saints in the offseason and the experiment was short lived.

Peterson expressed frustration with Head Coach about his touches but nothing came from it and Peterson continued to be lost in the Saints’ offense.

Because of his lack of production, people wondered if Peterson had lost a step (or two) or if his struggles were system based.

Well, after one game with the Arizona Cardinals (his new team) in Week 6, Peterson ran for 134 yards and 2 TDs including a 27-yard burst.

All Day may not be what he used to be but he showed everyone he’s better than what we saw in New Orleans.
