Skyler’s the Limit: Week 5 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em

October 5, 2017

TEs to start in Week 5:

Benjamin Watson (vs. Raiders): Benjamin Watson has always been a solid TE in the NFL. Watson is now one of Joe Flacco’s favorite targets as he has had 16 receptions and a touchdown in the last three weeks. Watson faces the Raiders who allow the 10th most points to TEs.

Hunter Henry (vs. Giants): This could be a big week for Hunter Henry. But it could also not be because the Chargers are having Henry share the field with Antonio Gates so it’s holding him back from improving on his rookie season. The Giants allow the most points to TEs this year and the most touchdowns to TEs (5).

Under the Radar TEs:

Austin Seferian-Jenkins (vs. Browns): Austin Seferian-Jenkins is a nice streaming option at TE this week. Tight ends are hit or miss so if you don’t have the elite guys you’re just searching for someone who has a high floor. I believe Seferian-Jenkins provides that this week against the Browns who allow the 2nd most points to TEs.

Jermaine Gresham (vs. Eagles): Jermaine Gresham is a nice option as a possible streamer as well. Gresham has not been anything special this season but without a true running game with the Cardinals. They throw the ball a lot so it’s likely Gresham will get some targets but it’s what he does with those that matter. Eagles allow the 8th most points to opposing TEs.

TEs to sit in Week 5:

Eric Ebron (vs. Panthers): Eric Ebron has been disappointing so far this season. Ebron in Week 2 had 15.2 points but in Weeks 1,3, and 4 he’s totaled just 10.5 points. This week he faces a Panthers defense that allows the 5th least amount of points to TEs.

Jack Doyle (vs 49ers): Usually I’ll say to start everyone that plays the 49ers but not Jack Doyle. The 49ers aren’t good at much but what they are good at is stopping the opponents tight end. This season the 49ers have allowed just 10 receptions for 77 yards and no touchdowns to opposing tight ends.
